Description

Honouring iconic architect and designer Frank Lloyd Wright, Blackwing's Volume 71 Pencil Set references the legendary Usonian homes, which Wright designed to prove that practical and affordable homes can still be a beautiful.

 

Wright sought harmony between form and function, natural and artificial construction, and positive and negative space. The perforated boards that adorn the windows and laylights of these Usonian homes have become symbols of his unique design approach, and it's those same boards that the design of the Volume 71 Pencil evokes, with each pencil featuring a silhouette of one of Wright’s iconic perforated boards printed in a muted, midcentury palette. The area around the board is unfilled, letting the natural wood of the pencil shine through.

 

The Volume 71 Pencils feature Blackwing's Extra-Firm graphite core, and are capped with a copper ferrule and an eraser in a complementary colour.
